    Scallywags Summer

          _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Inspirations This short comic/illustrated story is inspired by my memories of reading Russian Fairy Tales as a child. The book Mridu picks up is The Lost Girl and the Scallywags by Galina Demykina. What I remember the most are the beautiful names and the dark enchantment of these books. Have you had similar experiences? It is also a part of my illustrations for introverts. Mridu is a shy and quiet girl like I was. And she likes to do things by herself.     It is OK to Hibernate!

    A loop of anxious and depressing thoughts Sometimes I am caught in a loop of what-ifs and whys. A cocktail of worries, doubts, and fear that seem to overwhelm me. And the intensity of these feelings is uncomfortable, to say the least. And I just want to escape into my corner and numb myself to the world around me. These are bad days. And then I pick myself up, do something I like – take a walk, clean my home, brew a cup of tea, or doodle something – and slowly the cloud of thoughts lifts.     Bengaluru’s first Indie Comix Festival showcases independent creators

    Bengaluru’s first Indie Comix Festival (ICF) showcased a host of self-published, alternative stories from over twenty comic book artists. The free, all-day event was held at Bengaluru on May 20th, 2018, at the Rangoli Metro Art Centre. Art in Transit project of the Srishti Institute of Art Design and Technology collaborated with ICF to host the festival.
